What’s the difference between a Friendly Home (FH) and a Tiny Home (TH)?

There are several crucial difference between a FH and a TH:

Regulatory Compliance: A FH is designed and built to meet or exceed the National Building Code of Canada Part 9: Housing and Small Buildings. A TH rarely meet these requirements and if they do, it's minimal.
Mobility and Transport: A FH is built on an engineered steel chassis and moved by professional building movers. A TH is typically built on a narrow trailer that is meant to be moved regularly without a special permit.
Size and Customization: A FH can vary in size from 300 square feet to unlimited sizes, with modular capabilities. A TH is usually less than 500 square feet with limited customization options due to compact size.
Longevity: A FH is built to last in harsh northern climates. THs are a passing trend, and rarely constructed with the future in mind or built for extreme climates.
